Full 7-Round 2024 New York Jets Mock Draft (2024)

By Peter Andrisani (The Mock Draft Guy)

The New York Jets 2023-24 season is (mercifully) “over.” After being eliminated from playoff contention following their Week 15 30-0 drubbing by the short-handed Miami Dolphins, I figured this would be a good time to release my first Full 7-round Mock of the year. What better team to go first than the team that is nearest, and dearest to my heart…unfortunately.

For me, The name of The Game is trading down to acquire assets, current and future. The Jets get a much-needed mid-second-round pick while acquiring one for 2025 as well. Adding an extra 3rd Rounder (#85) is huge as well, in case Joe Douglas wants extra firepower to move back up into the Second Round.

I mean, does this pick even need an explanation? Watch any Jets game and see, that The Offensive Line is in SHAMBLES. Fuaga is the most athletic Tackle in the entire draft class, and has experience on the inside as well, at Right Guard. The 6’6” 334-pound All-American would be an instant “Plug n’ Play” Starter at either Tackle or Guard positions—a needed upgrade to protect a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers.

Two Line Picks? BORINGGGGGGGGGGG!

The Jets have the 2nd best Pass Defense in the entire NFL. Their Rush Defense? 27th. Quinnen Williams gets double-teamed the most out of all Defensive Tackles in the NFL and still plays at an All-Pro level. Solomon Thomas boasts a 42.4 PFF Rating this season, and an upgrade is desperately needed. Murphy was the 2023 BIG-12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and is a force to be reckoned with on the inside. Murphy & Williams would be a nightmare duo on the inside.

Allen Lazard is a 44 Million Dollar Bust. Randall Cobb is 400 years old. Xavier Gipson was a nice UDFA find, and Garrett Wilson is a Star. Time and time again this season, the Jets have had next to no 2nd option in the passing game. Devontez Walker is a big-time 6’3 200-pound receiver that is a threat to score on every catch. Walker can win down the field, and separate over the middle, two areas of the field that the Jets have had next to no success throwing to in the 2023-24 season.

Hicks is the exact type of “Hybrid” Safety The Jets & Robert Saleh like to deploy. Hicks has incredible versatility and Size. At 6’3 212 Pounds, he can play that Jamien Sherwood Type of role. The Jets have gotten solid production out of Tony Adams & Ashtyn Davis this season. Regardless, Safety is the weakest positional group in the secondary, and Hicks is a versatile playmaker.

Alright, hear me out. Joe Tippmann was a great pick in 2023. He’s been our best offensive lineman when healthy this season. But, his talents and athleticism best fit the Guard position in the NFL. Case in point, he was one of the highest-graded guards in the NFL in his first 2 games at the guard position. Limmer is truly underrated, and while he’s not flashy, he does everything well. He’s more of a natural fit at the Center than Tippmann. Suddenly, the O-Line looks very formidable.

At some point, The Jets will need a long-term replacement for C.J. Mosley. Colson is a fantastic run defender, he has a comprehensive understanding of filling running lanes and getting off of blocks. Athletic, rangy, run-stuffing linebackers should be a priority for Gang Green.

Malik Washington was incredible in 2023. He posted 110 catches, for 1,426 REC Yards, and 9 touchdowns. He WAS the Cavaliers offense. Washington stands at only 5’8” with only 1 year of truly elite production. I think those are the only reasons why he lasts until round 5. Washington can be a truly awesome slot receiver, and allow Garrett Wilson to play out wide fully.

If you haven’t guessed it by now, I’m all about Offensive line versatility. The Offensive line is a volatile positional group, you can NEVER have too many good O-Lineman. Rosengarten was a part of one of the most formidable offensive lines in the country in 2023, at Washington. Rosengarten has the Size, at 6’6” to play tackle, but has the skill set to also slide inside and play guard.
