Subject: Exquisite catalog of US industry on the upswing

I am grateful to whomever is uploading this amazing content. This catalog is exquisitely produced and illustrated. It represents US industrial manufacturing on the upswing. The reason I am here is that I just bought a house built in 1958. The master has an H&H one-button switch in the closet door jamb. The switch failed and I was looking for a replacement. I found its predecessor in this catalog. All internal components are made of brass, copper, and steel. After I cleaned the switch, I could see that the mainspring was sprung. I replaced it. I thought that the brass plunger just pushed the contacts away. Not so. After replacing the mainspring, the switch makes an audible clack. Replacing this one part brought the switch back to factory specs. So this switch was installed 61 years ago, and it is now good for another 61 years. In the forward to this catalog, the writer proclaims the quality of H&H products. I wonder what that writer would think about an H&H switch, still going strong in 2019.
