Liquid transfer is an essential part of biomanufacturing processes. With Tuflux® tubing, benefit from low extractable profiles for both silicone and TPEtubing to transfercritical fluids across all process steps.
A Broad Range of Tubing Standards
Tuflux® tubes are available in standard dimensions from 1/8" (3.2 mm) to 1" (25.4 mm) for the internal dimensions and a wall thickness from 1.6 mm to 4.8 mm. These tubes’ function both as non-sterile standalone coils to build your own assemblies and as part of pre-sterilized single-use systems from Sartorius, which include bags, transfer sets, filters, or bioreactors.
There are three types of Tuflux® tubes, the table below will help you assess which one is best suited for your process need:

Low Extractable Profile
Low Extractable Profile
Purity and Cleanliness
Benefit from a silicone tubing with a low extractable profile for the transfer of critical fluids. Sartorius’ platinum-cured silicone tubing undergoes an extensive post-curing process after extrusion to create a product with extremely low levels of siloxanes, the most relevant extractable group within silicone products. Tuflux® SIL tubing is manufactured in ISO 7 cleanrooms to maintain the cleanliness of the drug substances it carries.
Resistant to Pumping
Resistant to Pumping
Robust Tubing
Tuflux® SIL tubing's hardness of 60 Shore A combined with an optimized wall thickness dedicated per size ensures a solid compromise between pressure resistance and long pump life with high flow rates. Tuflux® SIL has been designed to prevent kinking but maintain enough flexibility for efficient operator handling.
Easy Handling
Easy Handling
Proprietary Low Tack Treatment
Tuflux® SIL undergoes a surface treatment in a plasma process that reduces the stickiness of the surface when compared to non-surface treated silicone tubing products. This eases the unwinding of coils, as well as handling in general.
More Than Just Another TPE Tubing
Tuflux® TPE Thermoplastic Elastomer Tubing
Tuflux® TPE has been designed specifically for liquid transfer in the biopharmaceutical industry. It can be heat sealed and welded with Biosealer® TC and Biowelder® TC to maintain sterile conditions.
- Ease of use/Error proofing
- Cell-growth compatibility
- High flexibility for use with other materials

Mitigate Errors with Embedded Colors
The unique color-coding of Tuflux® TPE tubing aligns with the Biowelder® TC tube holders. In addition, the printing of the inner and outer diameter dimensions, as well as the tube material, facilitates identification and ease of use and mitigates operator errors.

Tubing Optimized for Cell Growth
Tuflux® TPE has been specifically designed to be compatible with cell growth. Indeed, its antioxidant levels have been optimized in order to prevent any risk of toxicity caused by the presence of bis(2,4-di-tert-butylphenlyl) phosphate (bDtBPP). As a result, cell growth is not inhibited even under worst-case surface-to-volume ratios in small-scale applications.
Co-Welding

Co-welding With Other TPE Tubing
Co-welding between Tuflux® TPE and different TPE tubes is possible thanks to Biowelder® TC. Indeed co-welding parameters have been validated for different combinations of gamma-irradiated and/or autoclaved tubes.
High Pressure Resistance Tubing
Tuflux® SIL Braided
Braided Tuflux® SIL is the newest product in the Sartorius tubing portfolio. Its composition is identical to Tuflux® SIL just with an integrated mesh.
- High pressure resistance
- Medical grade PET mesh
- Full validation package for easy adoption

Pressure Resistance
Braided Tuflux® SIL is made of the same silicone as Tuflux® SIL and therefore benefits from the same advantages: low extractable profiles, a good compromise between strength and flexibility and a low tack treatment to reduce surface stickiness. It is reinforced with a mesh, enabling it to be resistant to pressures up to 60 bar.
