Fri May 17, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Jordan begs Victor to unleash her, Claire urges Kyle to go easy on Summer, and Summer worries her mom is out for revenge.
Thursday’s recap: Abby’s vote for Billy shocked Devon, Phyllis leaked secrets to Tucker and quit her job as Audra considered a bold move.

Summer joins her mom at the GCAC and tells her how exhausted Harrison has been.
She tells her how great she was by setting boundaries with Claire.
They vent about Kyle doing nothing to help. Phyllis adds that Diane won’t be a help either.
Phyllis doesn’t think she’s overreacting. People can’t be trusted and you have to watch out for yourself.
She’s just happy that she’s taking her advice and starts venting about Daniel not being sympathetic when his dad rode off with Cricket.
She’s worried about how “off” her son seems.
Summer points out his life is a mess right now.
Her mom announces that she quit her job and orders a bottle of champagne.
She says Devon was likely going to fire her anyway for breaking her confidentiality agreement.
Daniel gave his heart and soul to that company and they threw him out like garbage. Phyllis thinks someone should make them pay.
Her daughter hopes she is not actually plotting revenge.
Phyllis claims she’s looking for justice. Her daughter urges her to trust the system.
Summer worries that she’s going to break her streak of good behavior and reminds her that Daniel is an adult and can take care of himself.
She begs her not to burn Chancellor-Winters to the ground and takes off.
As soon as she’s alone, Phyllis signs into the company intranet.
When Summer gets to the Abbott estate, Harrison tells her he had another nightmare about the witch.
She texts his dad.
Claire walks into Crimson Lights and Esther starts recommending all the things she could order.
Kyle pops up and asks to have the same as Claire.
Disappointed Esther gives them drip coffees with no fun. Claire promises something decadent next time.
Kyle asks Claire to join him. She’s not sure but agrees.
They sit and talk about their families. She says that seeing her parents is great.
Real love close up is better than any book she’s read. A family that’s kind and forgiving is more than she’s ever wanted.
Nikki and Victor still look at each other like they are the only people in the room.
Kyle is just focused on his son and work. She’s still focused on getting a job.
She urges him to go easy on Summer. Her mom keeps checking on her and she can’t imagine how terrified Summer was when Harrison went missing.
She can understand why Summer wouldn’t want her around as a reminder.
He gets a text from Summer and has to go but hopes they can talk again. She’d like that.
Kyle arrives at the Abbott estate and he and Summer tell Harrison they will look after him.
Harrison is more concerned about the witch going after Claire.
They tell him he’s safe there so he asks if Claire can come over and he safe too.
They send him off to get cookies from Mrs Martinez and then Kyle suggests they bring in Claire as a trial nanny.
This appalls her but he thinks that their son feels as safe with Claire as he does with them.
She’s a better bet than a stranger. They bicker about this and he tells her that Claire puts Harrison’s bond with his mother first.
Summer accuses him of making this all about Claire and she refuses to believe she’s totally safe.
He says that Claire has been through hell and is still kind.
She tells him Claire can be his charity project but they need to leave their son out of this.
They can find someone else for Harrison.
When Harrison returns, he asks Summer to call Claire. Kyle asks if he wants her to be his new nanny.
“Yayyyy!” yells Harrison. Summer is furious.

In the dungeon, Jordan begs Victor to let her go. He reminds her she’s in no position to make demands.
She offers him anything he wants.
Mayhem, chaos, blood.
He smiles and starts to goad her about how nice the weather is.
Jordan asks him to unleash her as they’d planned.
Getting on her knees, she begs him to let her out.
He reminds her that she tried to kill him and his family.
Saying that she is the bullet in his chamber, she asks him to shoot her off.
He laughs and tells her she’s pathetic and not in control.
She wonders why he doesn’t want to show off all he’s accomplished and starts pushing him about Nikki being unable to finish the job.
He assures her he’s not compassionate like his wife.
Victor explains that he’s convinced everyone that she fell off a bridge.
She curses him.
He hands her another bottle of vodka and grabs her by the throat, ordering her never to mention Nikki again and walking out.
At the ranch, Cole is waiting for Victor when Nick shows up.
He explains no one is sure where his father is.
Cole asks if Victor could be keeping a secret.
“Absolutely,” says Nick. His father always has secrets he’s sitting on.
Cole has a feeling that Victor is plotting something against Jack.
That’s no surprise to Nick.
Cole is also worried that something is off about Victor’s claims regarding Jordan’s demise.
Until a body is found, he feels like he needs to protect Victoria and Claire.
Victor keeps insisting there is nothing to worry about and that is setting off alarm bells.
Nick hears him but thinks he should let this go.
Cole isn’t ready to let his guard down.
Victor wanders in and claims he was just going a few rounds with the heavy bag.
He tells them that Nikki is getting stronger and Nick leaves for work.
Cole says he wants to get Claire riding and asks about horses.
Claire arrives and her dad offers her riding lessons.
She thinks that would be amazing.
Victor tells her that riding is in the Newman blood and invites them to dinner.
They will have Brussels sprouts.
Claire has never had those.
Jordan wouldn’t allow it and was horrified of them.
Victor laughs.
Nick finds Phyllis at the GCAC and she immediately shuts down her computer.
She admits she doesn’t work for Chancellor-Winters anymore.
She says that she’s just looking for justice, like some viruses she can leave on the server.
Sitting down with her, he asks to hear about all her revenge fantasies.
Phyllis just wants to create enough havoc that Devon and Lily will bring Daniel back.
He wonders if she’s considered the fallout but she’s confident she would not be caught.
Nick reminds her their daughter would have to deal with her being on the wanted list again.
Backing down, Phyllis asks how he makes her realize she was wrong.
He’s not going to solve her other problems for her.
They chit chat and toast.
Back in the dungeon, Victor brings Jordan some food that is full of fiber.
It’s a plate of Brussels sprouts.
He starts chewing on one, then spits it at her and wishes her “Bon Appetit” as she begs for anything else.
“This place isn’t open for hours so we have all the privacy in the world,” Miss Abbott tells Tucker.
Belle worries she’s about to kill him.
“I think you are hiding something. I don’t know what it is or why you’re doing it. But every time I talk to you lately, I don’t feel like I’m getting the whole truth,” Cole tells Victor.
Cole spots Victor creeping around with Brussels sprouts.
“Victor, are you home? Victor?” Nikki calls out as she arrives at the ranch.
